{"id":100,"date":"2007-11-26T11:17:09","date_gmt":"2007-11-25T23:17:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dfmamea.com\/blog\/2007\/11\/26\/the-day-after\/"},"modified":"2012-08-05T20:03:04","modified_gmt":"2012-08-05T08:03:04","slug":"the-day-after","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dfmamea.com\/blog\/the-day-after\/","title":{"rendered":"The Day After"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After a few days of (relatively) frenzied DVD watching, I&#8217;ve learned that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the laws of physics and logic are optional extras for action films;<\/li>\n<li>rock-music-driven montages and slo-mo shots of <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">victims<\/span> heroes walking or running &#8211; or walking <em>with intent<\/em> &#8211; are essential elements of a thriller; and<\/li>\n<li>a film that doesn&#8217;t aim high but has fun anyway is much more enjoyable than a film that Has a Life Lesson to Impart and does so in a manner that assumes you&#8217;re a monkey.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Just as all things come to an end &#8211; films that end at the right moment, or films that end because there&#8217;s no more disk space &#8211; the Goddess returned yesterday.
