FOUR CHICKENS excitedly gobble down STALE BREAD CRUMBS.<\/p>\n

GODDESS<\/p>\n

(O.O.S.; sing-song)<\/p>\n

Hey girls. You like that?<\/p>\n

ANGLE ON THE GODDESS as she peers through the fence from the BACKYARD.<\/p>\n

One chicken in particular – we recognise BUFFY from our earlier episode – looks up before gingerly moving her right wing: we see that a number of feathers have been shorn in an unnatural but geometric straight line.<\/p>\n

EXT. BACKYARD – CONTINUOUS<\/p>\n

The Goddess grasps a fence paling in one hand as --<\/p>\n

GODDESS<\/p>\n

Look, it hurt me much more than it hurt you to do that.<\/p>\n

(beat)<\/p>\n

It was for your own good.<\/p>\n

CUT TO:<\/p>\n

INT. KITCHEN – LATER<\/p>\n

Our WRITER enters with some DIRTY DISHES. Movement outside catches his eye.<\/p>\n

WRITER<\/p>\n

Um. Dear?<\/p>\n

EXT. BACKYARD – MOMENTS LATER<\/p>\n

Buffy stretches her wings defiantly as she approaches the GARDEN.<\/p>\n

We hear a backdoor opening.<\/p>\n

GODDESS<\/p>\n

The books said clipping one wing would work.<\/p>\n

Buffy manages a few panicked strides before she’s in The Goddess’s arms.<\/p>\n

She and her captor stare at each other, not moving.<\/p>\n

BUFFY<\/p>\n

(low)<\/p>\n

Booooaaaahhh.<\/p>\n

The chicken cranes her neck to eye her captor RIGHT IN HER FACE. She doesn’t blink.<\/p>\n

A muscle twitches in The Goddess’s cheek.<\/p>\n

A long beat.<\/p>\n

GODDESS<\/p>\n

Right then.<\/p>\n

The Goddess strides into the HOUSE, chicken in arm.<\/p>\n
