Where’s Hero Detective?<\/p>\n

RANDOM DETECTIVE<\/p>\n

He’s on a call, sir.<\/p>\n

THE SUPERINTENDENT<\/p>\n

(fumes)<\/p>\n

Get him to see me when he comes in.<\/p>\n

RANDOM DETECTIVE<\/p>\n

Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

As The Superintendent heads for his office, the Random Detective turns to a colleague:<\/p>\n

RANDOM DETECTIVE<\/p>\n

(sing-song)<\/p>\n

Someone’s in trouble!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

I was like, WTF?<\/i> What happened to this oldie-but-goodie:<\/p>\n

INT. DETECTIVES’ BULLPEN – DAY<\/p>\n

Detectives are scattered about the open plan office, a hubbub of conversations throughout.<\/p>\n

Our Hero Detective’s supervisor, THE SUPERINTENDENT, strides through the entrance:<\/p>\n

THE SUPERINTENDENT<\/p>\n

Where. The fuck. IS HE?<\/u><\/p>\n

The bullpen is silenced, its occupants afraid to move or speak.<\/p>\n

THE SUPERINTENDENT<\/p>\n

I want him in my office NOW!<\/u><\/p>\n

The bullpen springs into action as --<\/p>\n

-- The Superintendent continues to his office and SLAMS the door behind him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sure it’s a cliche<\/a> that’s been parodied endlessly, but at least it doesn’t look and sound like a bunch of school kids hearing that Mr So-and-So is on the warpath.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
