But it <del>coulda<\/del> should&#8217;ve been much better.\u00a0Standouts from the reading diary:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.animalvegetablemiracle.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Animal Vegetable Miracle<\/em><\/a>\u00a0by Barbara Kingsolver \u2014 I maybe should&#8217;ve read this <del>when the Lovely Wife suggested it<\/del> before agreeing to follow my wife to rural Northland;<\/li>\n<li><em>Ratatouille<\/em> (2007 draft) by Brad Bird;<\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stray_Bullets_(comics)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stray Bullets<\/a>: Sunshine and Roses<\/em> 007\u2013029 by David Lapham \u2014 I thought this sprawling small crime epic was consigned to the unfinished classics section of comic history until I tripped over this at the local library;<\/li>\n<li><em>Garlic and Sapphires<\/em> by Ruth Reichl;<\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lazarus_(comics)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lazarus<\/a> X+66<\/em> 001\u2013005 by Greg Rucka, Eric Trautmann, Steve Lieber and Michael Lark \u2014 a very welcome salve while the main\u00a0<em>Lazarus<\/em> series is on hold;<\/li>\n<li><em>Atlanta<\/em> S01E01 by Donald Glover;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatreview.org.nz\/reviews\/production.php?id=5842\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Te Puhi<\/a>\u00a0by Cian Elyse White \u2014 a beguiling slice of New Zild history about our first M\u0101ori Miss New Zealand;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt5303034\/reference\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Pissy Tits Gang<\/a>\u00a0by Rosie Howells;<\/li>\n<li><em>The Walking Dead<\/em> 162\u2013174<em>, <\/em>including<em> Here&#8217;s Negan!<\/em>, by Robert Kirkman, Charlie Adlard, Cliff Rathburn \u2014 the Negan character arc in the\u00a0<em>Walking Dead<\/em> comic is a masterclass in humanity, patience \u00a0and compassion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure style=\"width: 322px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/walkingdead.wikia.com\/wiki\/Here%27s_Negan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vignette.wikia.nocookie.net\/walkingdead\/images\/8\/81\/HeresNegan_HardCov.jpg\/revision\/latest\/scale-to-width-down\/321?cb=20170727065733\" alt=\"\" width=\"322\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image courtesy The Walking Dead Wiki www.walkingdeadwikia.com<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fair use, Link My reading output (input?) this year was better than last year.
