(Image courtesy Auckland Theatre Company.)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Rehearsals for\u00a0<em>Still Life With Chickens<\/em> kicked off this week with an Auckland Theatre Company welcome followed by a reading, then a read-through.<\/p>\n<p>I got to meet and thank set, puppet and costume designer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnparker.co.nz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John Parker<\/a>. I caught up with director <a href=\"http:\/\/dfmamea.com\/blog\/?s=fasitua+amosa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fasitua Amosa<\/a>\u00a0and actor\u00a0<strong>Goretti Chadwick<\/strong>, as well as met the masterfully coiffured Chicken puppeteer <strong>Haanz Fa&#8217;avae Jackson <\/strong>and the very quiet, very calm technical stage manager <strong>Andrew Furness<\/strong>. Also well-met were those whose names are unlikely to appear in the brochure but whose work is just as vital as those on and around the stage: <strong>Eliza<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Natasha<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Nicola<\/strong>, <strong>Emma<\/strong>, <strong>Jan<\/strong>, <strong>Jade<\/strong>, <strong>Nicole<\/strong>, <strong>Siobhan<\/strong> and <strong>Miryam<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>I realised with a shock that opening night is only four weeks away.
