The Goddess likes Urbis<\/a> and Beekeeper Journal<\/a> while I like Empire<\/a> and mourn the limited availability of Guns & Ammo<\/a>. She listens to Greg Johnson<\/a> and Jacqueline du Pre<\/a> while I like to crank up some Wu or Nina Simone<\/a>. She has a soft spot for Miss Marple<\/i> while I’ll re-up with McNulty and friends<\/a> any time.<\/p>\n

There is some common ground. Queen<\/a>, Maisey Rika<\/a> and Phoenix Foundation<\/a>. Better Off Ted<\/a>, Modern Family<\/a>, Breaking Bad<\/a>, The Good Wife<\/a> and Mad Men<\/a>. (Yes, these last coupla years have been big<\/i> box-watching years.)<\/p>\n

She likes relationship stories while I like kill-my-dog-and-I-shall-lay-waste-upon-the-land-until-vengeance-is-mine stories. Her viewing threshold is a lot lower than mine – q.v. The Cult<\/a> – but my excuse is that all viewing is a learning experience<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So we like different things. So what.<\/p>\n

Were it not for Her, I would not have had the pleasure of Grand Designs<\/i>, the River Cottage<\/i> series, Pieces of April<\/i>, and King of Kong<\/i>. And were it not for me, She would not have had the pleasure of Mad Men<\/i>, The Good Wife<\/i>, Lars and the Real Girl<\/i>, and In Bruges<\/i>.<\/p>\n

I suppose it evens out in the end. And because I do like to quote the good doctor<\/a>, <\/p>\n
