Born and raised in Wellington, New Zealand, D F Mamea worked for The Man for too long before throwing it all in and doing the South Seas Film & Television production course. Despite a high proficiency with VCRs and computers, these skills meant nothing when it came to operating a camera or driving an edit suite. He concentrated on screenwriting.

Another cafe - another country altogether - but always writing.
Since 2002 he has worked on feature film and television projects in genres ranging from sci-fi to soap, comedy to horror, and documentary to drama. Some of his handiwork can be found on this site. He has also directed a feature and a short film, and produced two short films.
He lives in Waitakere with his very own Domestic Goddess, their two children, and a growing menagerie of animals.
Feel free to say hello.
