Born and raised in Wellington, New Zealand, David Fa’auliuli Mamea worked for The Man for too long before throwing it all in and doing the South Seas Film & Television production course. Despite a high proficiency with VCRs and computers, these skills meant nothing when it came to operating a camera or driving an edit suite. He concentrated on screenwriting.
Since 2002 he has worked on film, television, theatre and radio projects in genres ranging from sci-fi to soap, comedy to horror, and documentary to drama. Some of his handiwork can be found on this site. He has also directed a feature and a short film, and produced two short films.
He lives in Waitakere Northland with his very own Domestic Goddess. Any connection between their children leaving the nest and the explosive growth in their menagerie is purely coincidental.
Feel free to say hello.
