Saw an ad in the local online arts community for a writer:
It was spellchecked – a rarity for ads calling for writers.
Then I saw another ad for the same project:
I did a double-take – and lo:
… Meh.

I know, David, I know, that’s the thing with this stuff. I walked away from a short film project when the director/producer told me he was willing/had money only to pay the main crew, not the writer.
I guess it’s not real work, is it?
Btw, is the write stuff newsletter still archived online, like it use to be.

@getting paid: the thing that always gets my goat is that some people – too many people – don’t think writing is real enough work to warrant payment. if it’s so bloody easy, why don’t they write it them-damned-selves?
@The Write Stuff: i don’t think it’s archived any more – and i suspect it’s truly email-only nowadays but don’t hold me to that suspicion.
